Core Commitments

At our congregational meeting on January 19, 2022, I presented the following core commitments of Reformation Presbyterian Church. These are the doctrinal and spiritual principles that define who we are as a church. May the Lord grant us grace to remain faithful to Him in all of these areas, and to be “always reforming” both in doctrine and life!

  • We are committed to the Scriptures as the all-sufficient, inerrant, and infallible Word of God
  • We are committed to biblical preaching that exalts Christ and proclaims the Gospel of His sinless life, atoning death, triumphant resurrection, and glorious return
  • We are committed to historic, orthodox, confessional Christianity as summarized in the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms
  • We are committed to being Orthodox Presbyterian in doctrine, worship, church government, and life
  • We are committed to the church of Jesus Christ and the historic “marks of the church” (preaching, sacraments, church membership/discipleship/church discipline)
  • We are committed to the worship of God according to the Scriptures, to the Sabbath Day, to morning and evening worship, and to the centrality of worship and the Lord’s Day in the Christian life
  • We are committed to shepherding/pastoral care–meaning regular household visitation by the elders of the church
  • We are committed to depending on the Lord in prayer–privately, in families, and as a congregation
  • We are committed to nurturing families and fostering a culture of “generational Christianity”–especially by encouraging parents in family worship, Christian education, and catechism instruction
  • We are committed to evangelism, outreach, hospitality, and works of service and mercy (both in and out of the local congregation)
