What Are the Means of Grace?

One of the phrases you will hear often at Reformation Presbyterian Church is “the ordinary means of grace.” What are the means of grace? Simply put, the means of grace are those ordinances God has graciously provided to bring us into communion with Him. The Westminster Larger Catechism brings this into focus for us in Q. 134:

Q. What are the outward means whereby Christ communicates to us the benefits of His mediation?

A. The outward and ordinary means whereby Christ communicates to His church the benefits of His mediation, are all His ordinances; especially the Word, sacraments, and prayer; all which are made effectual to the elect for their salvation.

If you have 3 minutes, I hope you will watch this video on the means of grace and their centrality in the Christian life.
