What to Expect

What to Expect

Welcome to Reformation Presbyterian Church

Everyone is welcome at Reformation! We hope you will join us and be our guest on the Lord’s Day and during the week. We believe that the living and true God, our triune Creator, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, has called on people everywhere to worship Him in spirit and in truth. Come hear the good news from the Bible that points us to the Lord Jesus Christ, the only substitute for sinners, and the new life in Him promised to those who call upon His name in sincere repentance and faith!

Expectations During Worship

  • Hear from the Bible what God says about our sinful condition and the need for a Savior, leading us to confess our sins to Him.
  • Hear the good news from the Bible about the Lord Jesus Christ, the only substitute for sinners, and the new life that believers have in His name.
  • Sing historic hymns of the church, as well as arrangements from the Psalms.
  • Listen to clear, expository teaching from the Bible.
  • Experience the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper, given by God as a means of grace, to bless, strengthen, and unify the church. At Reformation Presbyterian, we partake of the Supper several times a month.
  • Recognize that offerings are brought to God not as payment but as gifts of thanksgiving for His kindness.
  • Be joined by children since worship is for all ages. Assistance is available if needed, especially with young children.
  • Reflect quietly at times during the service in the midst of a noisy, busy world.
  • Engage in friendly, caring fellowship with others before and after the worship service. New worshipers are welcomed warmly!

Worship Philosophy

  • We believe that the living and true God, our triune Creator—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—has called on people everywhere to worship Him in spirit and in truth.
  • Come hear the good news from the Bible that points us to the Lord Jesus Christ, the only substitute for sinners, and the new life in Him promised to those who call upon His name in sincere repentance and faith!

Nursery

  • Stocked nursery provided
  • Designated “crying pew” in the narthex for child training during the service.

Children in Worship

  • Children of all ages are welcome in worship.
  • God promises in the Bible to be a God to us and our children, and to be especially present to bless all of His people in public worship on the Lord’s Day.
  • We also know there will be times when you need to take your children out of the main worship area. If your children are unable to sit quietly without disturbing other worshipers, we have a nursery and “crying pew” with sound available.
  • The nursery or “training room” serves a theological purpose—to assist parents in teaching their children to be worshipers. Therefore, being mindful of others, it’s important to make every effort to maintain an atmosphere of quiet reverence during worship services.
